Story
I was proud to be asked by my friends Nick and Ortensia to run the Manchester Marathon to raise money for research into Rett syndrome, a condition that affects their daughter Olivia.
Rett syndrome is a rare neurological disorder that mainly affects girls and severely impacts their ability to walk, talk and use their hands.
I am happy to be running alongside Olivia’s brothers Eddie and Tommy for a cause that means so much to their family — and to me.
With two UK gene therapy clinical trials for Rett syndrome being approved there has never been a more vital time to fundraise for Reverse Rett.
The team will be running in honour of all the children in the cover photo above and everyone living with Rett syndrome!
We want a cure for Rett syndrome and for whatever treatment shows improvements to be passed for use in the UK. Reverse Rett will leave no stone unturned until a treatment is available for everyone living with Rett syndrome.
