Ross's fundraiser for Cancer Awareness

Ross Jackson is raising money for Prostate Cancer Research

Namib Race 2026 – 250km Across the Skeleton Coast · 16 August 2026

People affected by prostate cancer need breakthrough treatments. Research is the only way to turn this hope into reality. Combining patient stories and scientific expertise, we fund projects that have a real impact, reducing side-effects, cutting treatment costs and ultimately improving outcomes.

Story

The Why

I'm doing this for many reasons, and for many people. For my family, in memory of my dad, and to become a better version of myself.

For my dad, Gordon Jackson, who sadly died from prostate cancer in 2013. His death had a profound impact on our family, especially my two younger brothers. Over the last 13 years, our shared love of adventure have helped us stay close and make the most of what we have together. This challenge is for them too, for the hardships we've endured, and for helping me become the best brother I can be to James & Mark.

For my mum, who is currently battling Stage 3 kidney cancer. I hope this challenge helps me find the strength, resilience and perspective to help support her battles and find her a healthy and happy future.

For my two boys Jake & Hugh, and my incredibly supportive wife, Debbie. I want to show our sons that when you commit yourself wholeheartedly, you're capable of far more than you ever imagine! I hope this challenge demonstrates the power of belief, perseverance and determination. More than anything, I've dreamed of seeing them all at the finish line, so I truly hope I can make it there.

And finally, for me.

Through suffering, I often find clarity.

This journey is about understanding myself better. My limits, my strengths and my weaknesses. It's about stepping into absolute fear, embracing discomfort, and hopefully emerging a better version of me, so that I can offer more to the people I love the most.
