We’re Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), and we’re a suicide prevention charity. We host a helpline for people affected by suicide, as well as vital online resources for anyone who needs them.

Story

I’m raising money for a cause that is close to my heart. As I’ve hit my mid 30’s I’ve began to see people of my age turn to the most heartbreaking measures to stop their pain and suffering. I have recently lost an ex colleague to suicide as well as seeing others in the spotlight take their own life.

As a man who has previously struggled with my mental health I feel that the support for men in particular and the stigma involved with men’s mental health is only making this national tragedy worse.

Every day in the UK we lose 18 people to suicide. It’s the single biggest killer of men under 50. As a society we need to do more.

CALM’s mission is to help people end their misery, not their lives.
