Story
Rotary MK has a new, ambitious project for 2024/25. We want to send an ambulance to a charity in Patna, Bihar, India, called Being Helper Foundation (BHF). Our President, Mukesh Kumar (originally from Patna) is the new President of the Rotary Club of Milton Keynes, England, and he is kicking off our year of fundraising with an ambitious trek to Everest Base Camp.
In a similar way to the UK’s Air Ambulance service, the charity BHF runs a 24hr Road Ambulance service for the poor, rural areas around Patna which are inadequately served by public ambulance services. Their need for resources is immense as demand grows.
By the end of this Rotary year, Mukesh wants to have raised £9,000 to purchase a fully equipped and road-ready ambulance for the Being Helper Foundation. BHF will cover the training and supply of volunteers and the Rotary Club of Milton Keynes would provide the ambulance - if we can raise sufficient funds.
Mukesh is nothing but passionate in any task he undertakes and, to kick off the year’s fundraising, with friends and colleagues, he intends to join a trek to the base camp of Everest on 15th September. He now needs some encouragement so please be generous to start our fundraising for this very worthy cause.
We will keep everyone updated of the trek's progress on Rotary MK’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/rotary.mk/
Thank you, in anticipation of your kind donation and support. Each of our donors have made our journey towards the £9K eventual target to buy the ambulance, a little easier.

25th September 2024.
He's made it! Despite altitude sickness he made it. Two of his team had to be rescued by helicopter because of severe sickness but Mukesh said he felt so strongly about the cause and the support from all the generous donations he was able to push on.
Well done Mukesh. We're proud of you
