Rough Ramble for Rossholme 2025

Kitty Hollingsworth is raising money for Rossholme School in Kenya

Rough Ramble for Rossholme - a marathon 26 mile trek on Dartmoor · 15 November 2025

The school in Nairobi’s Kiambiu slum provides free education for over 500 children aged 2 to 12. These children would otherwise receive no formal teaching. It has been run since 2016 by Kenyan, Joyce Aruga, with the support of the UK-based charity, Rossholme School in Kenya and other charities.

Story

Rossholme School provides education for 525 children in the Kiambiu slum in Nairobi, led by its inspirational Kenyan headteacher, Joyce Aruga. For the last two years, aunt and nephew team Kitty and Christian have walked a winter 26 mile marathon on Dartmoor and raised thousands of pounds to support the school. The marathon effort of raising the funds to allow the school to carry on its essential work continues, and so the Rough Ramble for Rossholme needs YOU!

There are two ways to support this event: you can take part on the day by joining up with a group of friends and walking one of the routes, or you can stay safely in the warm at home (or in the pub in Holne!) and support the walkers by donating to the Rough Ramble for Rossholme fund here on Just Giving!
