UPDATE - CHALLENGE COMPLETED 8/12/25
THANKS TO ALL DONORS FOR THE AMAZING SUPPORT! Click "Read Story" (In Green) Below

The intention was to row 10 Kilometres each day until I reached the 100 kilometres target I had set myself.
I was a bit overenthusiastic on the first day and rowed 20k, which was a bit of a mistake, as I now realised that if I did less than 20k per day, that would look somewhat unimpressive! So for the next 4 days I was shackled to this 20k per day target.
By the time that I hit 95k on the morning of Monday 9th December, I had learned to loathe the cursed rowing machine and most of all, the rock hard seat to which my sadly under-padded posterior had been affixed like a limpet for what seemed like the best part of 5 days!
However, at 1110 on the 9th of December I completed the 100k and was able to separate myself from the diabolical instrument of torture which had taken control of my life.
More important than that, though, is that through the incredible generosity of former work colleagues along with family, friends and One192 Gym members, at the time of writing £2,377 has been donated which when Gift Aid is added means that £2,938 will be going to the Hospice of St Francis in Berkhamsted.
I am overwhelmed by the generosity of the response and to everyone who has taken the time to donate I offer my sincere thanks.
Have a great Christmas and a healthy and happy New Year.

Hi everyone!
Exactly 4 years ago in November 2021 I was admitted to Harefield Hospital and had a triple bypass operation.
I was extremely fortunate that my condition was identified and I decided to do as much as I could to ensure that I was able to stay as fit and healthy as possible.
I had been going to the Gym in Berkhamsted High Street (ONE92 Gym) for over 20 years and was able to return in February 2022 under the guidance of Personal Trainer Steve Cole.
As a consequence, I go to the gym most days and in the process have become addicted to the rowing machine!

So on Thursday 4th of December 2025 I will start my challenge of rowing 100 kilometres within 10 days to raise money for the Hospice of St Francis this Christmas.
If I can do it in less than 10 days that’ll be a bonus!
The Hospice of St Francis only receives about 20% of its funding from the NHS. The rest comes from donations, fundraising and legacies.
Thank you for looking at my JustGiving page and I will be very grateful for any donation you feel able to give. Gift Aid will add another 25% to your donation.
With best wishes for Christmas and the New Year.
Dave Moore
