Story
Row for Alex: I have decided to row a marathon every day for 5 days on the erg (indoor rowing machine) from the 16th-20th September to raise money for PAPYRUS, a young suicide prevention charity. This has been inspired by the outstanding efforts of Joe, Sophie and Harvey.
Earlier this year Alex, a friend from school, sadly took his own life, who I can only describe as one of the most humble and intelligent people I have known, with a constant glowing positivity that made our Duke of Edinburgh more enjoyable than it was designed to be, however the same couldn’t be said for A Level Further Maths. I will always remember our conversations about our dogs and losing our guitar picks everywhere. Alex was also a keen cyclist and rower at Oxford.
I have never rowed close to as far a mileage as this (around 210km over 5 days) so it will be a big physical as well as mental challenge for me.
Please see below for more information about PAPYRUS, any donation will greatly help them and could end up saving a life.
Thank you so much for every donation and share, it means a lot to me but will also mean a lot to many young people in need as well.
