Row with the Flow GB 2025

We deliver free, non-judgemental, confidential, often life-changing, advice to anyone who needs it. Advice can help you feed your family, keep the heating on, and empower you to stand up for your rights. We use people’s real-life experiences to influence policy, and drive positive change.

Story

The team has faced various challenges getting to the start line. But 6 intrepid rowers are ready and excited to set off clockwise to row around mainland Britain in July 2025. Even on the good days the going will be tough given our shift pattern which is 2 hours on, 2 hours off. We hope to get round in under 6 weeks - it could be shorter or longer depending on the weather.

I want to raise awareness that CABs are charities as this isn’t common knowledge and at the same time raise vital funds for the network. I love the work the Citizens Advice Network in Scotland does and how it does it. Together staff and volunteers across the country work together to support people in their communities who are facing really difficult times. At the same time Citizens Advice Scotland and individual bureaux continue to campaign ‘upstream’ in an effort to bring about lasting changes. I don’t love the fact that this essential work is needed now more than ever or that it is increasingly hard to find funding

Every penny donated to my page will go towards improving the lives of people in Scotland. And since almost half the people in Scotland have sought advice from the Network, even if you haven’t accessed the service yourself, someone you know almost certainly has. Advice can empower you to stand up for yourself in the face of unfair employment practices, or it can be what keeps the heating on during the darkest days of winter.

And you can nominate your local CAB in your donation comment to support them with funds going directly to them.

The Citizens Advice Network is on the frontlines of the cost-of-living crisis providing life-changing advice to people across Scotland. Using people’s real-life experiences to influence policy and drive positive change, bureaux are on the side of people in Scotland who need help and they change lives for the better.
