Alzheimer’s Society are working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They do this by giving help to those living with dementia today and by providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding ground-breaking research.

That's the official line, but I should like to add that I am just thankful to have reached my age without needing the resources of Alzheimer's Society and am delighted to be able to support their request for funds so that they can continue the campaign.
