Story
Leukemia Took Me to the Peak of My Life!
Nice to meet you,
I’m Roy Loewenberg.
A leukemia fighter and a cyclist, past, present, and future.
At 46, with two young children and a routine life, I was diagnosed with acute leukemia. Since then, I’ve been in the race of my life—climbing challenging mountains and falling steep descents.
Since childhood, I’ve dreamed of reaching the Tour de France—the world’s most famous and challenging cycling race, considered the toughest sporting event on the planet.
Today, after half a year of battle and hopefully a near victory—Amen—I am about to fulfill my dream and represent Israel as part of Team Tour 21 in the Cure Leukaemia squad. We will ride the entire Tour de France course—a journey of 21 stages, 3,500 km, and over 50,000 meters of climbing.
We will start a week before the official race, aiming to raise funds and increase awareness for leukemia.
To participate, I need your help! Each rider must cover significant costs, and I must raise these funds myself.
Please help me wave the Israeli flag on the Tour de France course and make this dream come true!
I want to thank everyone who has supported me and helped me on my journey to beat this disease:
My incredible family and dear friends who stood by me day and night.
