We help children and young people to learn about and respond to Jesus

Story

In January 2023, I started working for Scripture Union Scotland as the Regional Worker for Perth, Kinross & Fife (PKF). It is an incredible blessing to partner with churches and volunteers across two amazing Scottish regions where I get the opportunity to help children & young people explore the Bible and respond to the significance of Jesus.

Why?

Since starting with SU Scotland just over 1.5 years ago I have helped with 5 weekend camps, supported over 25 SU lunchtime clubs across PKF, done 4 volunteer training events and held monthly Connect groups for young people. Here is what some of the volunteers were most encouraged by from our last weekend camp in May 24...

"The kids having such a good time and the trainee leaders being so devoted to what they were doing, through God."

"Seeing young people grow in their faith, and coming out of their shell more!"

As a parent I get excited to think that in just a few short years my kids will be able to go to an SU camp similar to those I grew up going to as a child. I am wanting to raise funding that will go directly to the work I do for Scripture Union Scotland in Perth, Kinross & Fife supporting volunteers to run schools groups, holiday clubs and deliver fantastic residential camps across the year.

The Challenge- 24hrs Three Peaks Challenge

The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales, within 24 hours. I will be joined by Craig Stocks (City Church Dundee Pastor) and Steve Lance (CCD Youth Lead) (pictured)

The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft). The total driving distance is 462 miles. I become ill the week leading up to the challenge in 2017 and I was only just able to finish two of the three.

In 2017, I attempted to do this same challenge. Since then, I am older, heavier and most likely weaker than I was back in 2017...HOWEVER I am much more committed to complete the challenge this time.

How you can help...

JOIN THE SUPPORT SQUAD!

Ideally, as an SU Regional Worker I am looking for 25 people to join my support squad that give regular (monthly) donations to the work being done in Perth, Kinross & Fife. Donors can give between £3-25 to pledge towards the work with children, young people and volunteers in the region. So far I have four that are part of the team. Use the link below for my SUScotland page to join my SUPPORT SQUAD and become a regular donor: https://www.suscotland.org.uk/our-team/roy-osborne/

Will you join the squad?
