Scarlet Wheels- raising funds for Chelsea Pensioners and the War Horse Memorial

Roy Palmer is raising money for The Chelsea Pensioners' Appeal

Scarlet Wheels

The Royal Hospital Chelsea provides a fitting home to veteran soldiers, fondly known as the Chelsea Pensioners. The Hospital is a place where veterans find comradeship and receive the very highest standards of care.

Story

My name is Roy, I’m 87 and I’ve been a Chelsea Pensioner since 2018.

Over the years, I’ve taken on a range of challenges to raise vital funds for the Royal Hospital Chelsea – including freefall parachute jumps and even a wing walk – and I’m now in the middle of my biggest challenge yet.

I’m currently taking on a virtual bike ride covering the distance from Land’s End to John O’Groats, raising funds for two incredibly important causes: The Royal Hospital Chelsea and the War Horse Memorial.

I began the ride at the Royal Hospital Chelsea during Salon Privé on 16 April, and I’m pleased to share that I’ve now reached mile 140 of the journey. I’ll continue to keep you updated as I make progress throughout the summer.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope that, with your support, Scarlet Wheels can raise vital funds for these two wonderful charities.
