Roy Rollings is raising money for Hope Against Cancer
In memory of Alice Greaves

Old Dalby - Norfolk 125 mile bike ride · 29 August 2026

Please support Alice's memory, Hope Against Cancer and the incredible riders planning to take to the saddle and ride 125 miles from Leicestershire to Norfolk on 29th August. All the funding goes towards the world-class cancer research.

Story

The ‘If Alice Can, Anyone Can’ cycle ride for Hope Against Cancer returns for 2026. This year feels especially significant, as it will be the first ride without Alice after she so sadly lost her battle with breast cancer earlier this year, aged just 27.

Last year’s ride was an incredible success, raising more than £114,000 for vital local cancer research. Alice had hoped to raise £100,000 and have more than 75 riders take part - and thanks to the determination of everyone involved, those targets were smashed.

On 29th August, I’ll be joining the challenge to ride 125 miles from Leicestershire to Norfolk in Alice’s memory and to help raise money for Hope Against Cancer, supporting the world-class cancer research and care we are so lucky to have here in the East Midlands.

This challenge is well outside my comfort zone. Until recently, I hadn’t cycled any real distance since I was a child, so 125 miles feels enormous. But compared to the battles faced by people living with cancer and the families around them, a long day on a bike is nothing.

The cause is also very close to home for so many of us who have loved ones battling cancer.

This ride is about honouring Alice’s memory, supporting families facing similar battles, and hopefully helping make a difference for others in the future.

Any support, donations, or encouragement along the way would genuinely mean a huge amount. Thank you.
