Story
Cancer affects everyone. We can all relate , & talk about Family members, friends or Colleagues that have had their lives affected by this Horrible Disease in one of its numerous forms, Some Beat it, Some are still fighting it and tragically some, (no matter how bravely & hard they fight) ultimately succomb. We are a group of mates who have all got individual stories we could tell of Friends & Loved ones who have Battled this Disease with varying results.
Benidorm Bangers is an annual charity rally from the UK to Benidorm and 2025 is going to be the last one . We all talked about doing something in Memory of our mate Barry, who we lost on Christmas Day last year (2023) and this seemed ideal. .. WE ARE NOT AFTER FUNDING FOR THIS that will be covered by all of us , but we thought that , rather than raise money for a specific form of Cancer research . THE CHRISTIE is a charity that helps and cares for ALL Cancer patients and in our humble opinion everyone who works there should be honoured .. the care and help they give is world class & second to none so to make a donation in Barrys name would be our small way of thanking them for taking care and doing everything they could for, not just him, but all Cancer Patients, and a fitting tribute from us for our mate .
From our Local (Quarry Bank Inn, Timperley) to Benidorm is 1,437m. We are a team of 5, and we are going to try and raise £1 a mile each, We know this is a bit of a challenge & might take some doing but it's for a worthy cause, so it's one will take on and give it our best shot . Anything you can give, no matter how big or small will all be going to a fantastic cause and will be gratefully received. We are led to believe that there are embarrasing/ funny tasks and challenges set out by organisers along the way so you could even challenge one /all of us to earn your donation by taking part in these and post/show results.
