Over the next six weeks were challenging you to #WalkForWater by walking 6km (3.7 miles) to raise money and awareness for The Washing Machine Project.

Story

The United Nations has recognized that clean drinking water and sanitation are essential to the realization of all human rights. Yet, for large sections of the populace, it is very hard to find clean water, let alone get access to it. At any one time, close to half of all people in developing countries are suffering from health problems caused by poor water and sanitation. Together, unclean water and poor sanitation are the world's second biggest killer of children.

6km, a little more than 3.7 miles, is the average round trip distance that women and children in the developing world walk for water. That is water to drink, cook, bathe and wash. By taking part in #WalkForWater we can help empower women with the time to take charge of their lives. When women rise, we all rise.

So let's change the world by supporting The Washing Machine Project and Walk For Water - and together, we will Make Amazing Happen for a Better World!
