Story
On Sunday 24th September a group of enthusiastic, fun loving and slightly underprepared (!) colleagues from the stroke unit at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton will be taking part in the London South Tough Mudder event in Crawley. Earlier this summer, the team moved into their new home in the state of the art Louisa Martindale building and our patients and their relatives have been enjoying the new ward and resources available to them. We are taking part in the ultimate obstacle course taking on mud, ice cold water, climbing walls and electric shocks over a 10km run to help raise some funds for our new stroke unit to best support the patients we look after.
Unfortunately, many of us know how life changing a stroke can be for patients and their families. At the Royal Sussex County Hospital, we are lucky to have a fantastic group of nurses, occupational and physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, dieticians, psychologists, junior doctors and consultants who help to make this journey the best it can be and to help our patients recover in the most caring and supportive way we can. It is an amazing team to be part of with a good camaraderie, team spirit and passion for the job. We are going to use these skills to take on this challenge and get round this course as we do in our job everyday - as a team! We would be grateful for any donations as we take on this crazy challenge! All funds raised will help support and improve the care of our patients! Thank you
