Since 2009, Ride Across Britain has enabled thousands of riders to experience the magic of cycling end-to-end of the UK, as well as raising millions of pounds for charity
Cycling used to be the purview of the 6ft lean machine who flew past you on a Sunday morning, but no longer.
For me it has been great to see more and more people of all shapes and sizes getting out on their bikes, enjoying the outdoors, getting fit and achieving great things.
Cycling events also tend to be a significant challenge and this one certainly is! I completed the London To Paris event back in 2016 for the British Heart Foundation but this time (now I'm over 50) this is my big push whilst I still can, before I enjoy Sundays just walking the dog!

Certainly this is not for the faint hearted, requiring months of training and a big dollop of resilience to complete. Cycling on average 110 miles a day.....
At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.
We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future.
Finally, I believe the event is so successful because the causes they raise funds for, connect at a personal level for the participants.
