Story

I’ll be aiming to complete the iconic Sandstone Trail (all 34 miles (55 km) of it) in a single day, in memory of Brigadier John Thomson, and to raise vital funds for Cheshire Search and Rescue (CSAR).

The Sandstone Trail follows Cheshire’s stunning central Sandstone Ridge, and as it runs through the very county that CSAR serves, it feels like the perfect route for this one-day walking challenge.

Brigadier John was Patron of Cheshire Search and Rescue from 2018 to 2024. He was immensely proud of the Team — made up entirely of dedicated volunteers — and fully understood the critical role CSAR plays in helping the people of Cheshire.

Every donation will go directly toward supporting the running costs of the Cheshire Search and Rescue, ensuring the Team can continue to provide their valuable service to the community.

If you’re able to support me in this challenge, I’d be incredibly grateful.

I aim to take on the challenge over the next couple of weeks and will update once a day has been confirmed.
