Run The Wall 2026 · 17 April 2026 to 19 April 2026 ·

On Friday 17/04, 10,000 runners were due to be pounding the streets of Bethlehem for the 10th Palestine Marathon. This has now been postponed due to escalations in the Middle East, but we are running around the world in solidarity anyway!

Story

I ran 10km on Saturday 18 April 2026 in morning sunshine. Photos of me BEFORE and AFTER the run and the route I took through Knole Park are now in the Image Gallery at the top of this page. Your generous support was always in my mind. So far the total is about £1,300, including direct donations and gift Aid. My body is a wreck but will recover in a few days. Unlike so many in Gaza and the West Bank whose bodies will need months or even a life time to recover from the last few years of onslaught.

The background to why I (we) run is here:

As many of you know, Amos Trust is a small creative human rights organisation that has been working with partners in the West Bank and Gaza for over 30 years. In 2020, it organised the first Run The Wall (RTW) event in support of the thousands of Palestinian runners pounding the streets of Bethlehem in the Palestine Marathon which takes place in the shadow of the illegal Separation Wall in Bethlehem. It has been cancelled this year due to the USA/Israel war against Iran but thousands will be running all over the world in solidarity with Palestinians' right to roam.

This RTW will be my fifth 10km run and the fifth time I have asked many of you - my faithful and generous supporters - to donate whatever your heart desires to Amos Trust's work in Gaza and the West Bank.

In 2016 I visited the West Bank and Galilee with Amos Trust and met many of their partner organisations and leaders of civil society organisations. They were and still are amazing people doing selfless work for their fellow sufferers. I will let you know how I progress. In the meanwhile, please watch this short film clip to see what it's all about:
