Ruaidhri's fundraiser for Children’s Health Foundation

Dublin Marathon 2024 · 27 October 2024 ·
I am running the Dublin City Marathon this year in memory of Malachy, our brave little boy who died at the age of 11 weeks in April 2022.
Born with profound challenges, he spent more than half of his life in Crumlin Children's Hospital where he received an incredible level of care from the doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and other staff of the Children's Heart Centre and the Paediatric ICU.
In 2022, I ran the Dublin City Marathon in his honour and as a way of giving back to the wonderful people who cared for Malachy and supported Siobhán and I and this year I'm doing it again and hoping to raise funds for the hospital.
Running the marathon was a special experience and the support in the build up and on the day was beyond my expectations. We raised more than €30,000 for Crumlin and would love to be able to make another contribution this year.
Once again, the training has been a challenge but running has been a real help to me in the years since Malachy passed. You can track my (slow) progress on Strava and I'll try to keep the page updated.
We appreciate any and all support you can give.
