Story
I am tackling Arthurs Seat 15 times in one day. Walking at least 23 miles! We are so close to reaching our goal, so please help if you can!
8 years ago I volunteered at my first Wave Project session, and I was instantly blown away. The positive affects that the water and the community had on the young people taking part was so instantly so evident.
It’s now been 5 years since I started working with the charity, running the project first in St Andrews, and now at Lost Shore. In this time I’ve seen over 350 young people take part in the 6 week Surf Therapy course and go on to join our Surf Club.
The sessions allow the kids to achieve things that they never thought they would be able to achieve. It’s a safe space for them to have fun and engage with a community of positive role models. The kids leave happier, more confident, and better able to deal with the challenges in their lives. The sessions have changed lives, they have saved lives.
This year marks 15 years since the Wave Project started down in Cornwall, and in that time, over 19,000 young people have been supported across the UK. So this summer we are launching our 15 Peaks of Summer challenge.
Why? Because we know how vital our work is for young people, and we want to do more.
We are trying to raise £15,000. We know that money is tight for everyone right now, so, the more people we get involved, raising even small amounts, will help us reach our goal.
