Hey there my name is Ruaridh and I am eleven years old. I live in a little seaside village in East Lothian and I have recently completed a 100k running challenge through Jog Club at my school.

I felt so good after completing it that I wanted to give myself a new personal goal, and I have decided that I now want to do my own twenty four hour running challenge! I am going to run a mile on the hour every hour for 24 hours straight. In this time I plan to complete the distance of a marathon (26.2 miles / 42.1 kilometres).

I am doing this because I would love to raise money for Alzheimer’s Scotland. This is something that is close to heart for me right now because my Granny has it and I’d love to try and raise some money so that nobody else’s Granny gets it in the future. It is really sad to see her slowly go downhill and forget stuff that she used to always know.

My Dad Jonny and my big cousin Tom are going to help me with my challenge and will run with me to make sure it all goes well. Both of them have done endurance challenges before so I am really excited to run with them and hopefully raise some money along the way.

Thank you for reading and I hope you will all follow my challenge!
