Story
On Saturday 23rd March 2024 20 Rubery Troop Army Cadets and their instructors are swapping their beds for a sleeping bag to raise vital funds and awareness for over 6000 veterans that are experiencing homeless in the UK right now.
With every penny raised, Royal British Legion Industries can provide safe, warm housing and ensure everyone has a fair opportunity to gain employment, regardless of health conditions or disability.
20 Cadets have decided this is a cause worth raising money for, as a result they are leaving their lovely warm houses to sleep in a tent, in the cold dark nights of March to experience what these veterans and all homeless people have to experience all year round. We are raising money for this cause as no one should be homeless let alone those who have served their country. For our cadets this will be a tough and new experience as many have never slept out this early in the year. The majority of the cadets taking part are between 12 - 15 years old.
We would like to thank Pikes Pool Scout Site in Bromsgrove for allowing us to use their site to pitch our tent and even more so by supporting our cause by giving it us for free! Please help us to raise much needed funds for this incredible cause, we are eternally grateful to anyone who contributes.
