Story
In April 2026, I’ll be taking on one of the biggest challenges I’ve ever done — running my very first marathon! I’m 18 years old, and I’ll be running every mile in memory of someone incredibly special to me: my grandad, who sadly passed away from bowel cancer in 2020.
He was one of my biggest inspirations — kind, funny, and always full of encouragement. Losing him was incredibly difficult, and it opened my eyes to just how many people are affected by bowel cancer and related diseases. That’s why I’ve chosen to support Bowel Research UK, an amazing charity that funds vital research into the prevention, treatment, and cure of bowel diseases, including cancer.
This marathon isn’t just about pushing myself physically (though trust me, there’s going to be a lot of that!). It’s about turning my energy, grief, and determination into something positive — raising awareness, supporting research, and honouring my grandad’s memory in the most meaningful way I can.
I’m so proud to be running for a cause that matters so much to me, and I’d be incredibly grateful for any support you can give — whether that’s a donation, a share of this page, or a few words of encouragement.
Thank you so much for helping me make a difference. Let’s do this — for Grandad, and for everyone affected by bowel disease and bowel cancer.
