Hi, my name is Ruby and I am 8 years old. I am raising money for Bowel Cancer UK in memory of my grandma, Pam Stewart.

I remember when my grandma came to watch me when I was learning to swim. Sadly she never got the chance to watch me swim as a member of my Swimming Club. If she hadn’t got cancer, she would have been there cheering me on and watching me swim really fast with my swimming squad.

Since losing my grandma, it has made all of my family really sad. Swimming has helped me when I feel upset, and it has helped me stay healthy and strong. Every time I swim, I think about making my grandma proud.

It is almost 3 years since my grandma died. I am determined to swim the width of the English Channel, 21 miles, as soon as possible to honour my grandma’s memory and raise as much money as I can for Bowel Cancer UK. I hope the money raised can help support people and families affected by bowel cancer, fund important research, and help find ways to stop people from getting bowel cancer in the future.

Every donation, big or small, means so much. Thank you for supporting me and helping me do something special for the best grandma ever!
