Ruby Longton is raising money for St John's Hospice North Lancashire and South Lakes
In memory of Rachel Standen

SJH April Skydive 2026 · 12 April 2026 ·

Would you like to feel an adrenaline rush like no other? Why not spread your wings and ‘Jump for St John’s!’ YOU could experience the thrill of free falling from up to 15,000ft to support your local hospice in an sponsored tandem skydive.

Story

💚St John’s Hospice cared for my beautiful daughter Rachel in July 2024.🧡

When we saw the ‘Jump for St John’s’ is on the same week as my 70th birthday it seemed like a sign from above! After a lot of laughter, hysteria and encouragement, I just knew I had to ‘fudge it’ for Rach! Especially with it being St John’s ‘Ruby’ year and also what would have been Rachel’s 40th year.

So on the 12th of April I will be skydiving!’🪂 🫣 It’s definitely not what I thought I’d be doing for my 70th but in true Rachel style I’m going to challenge myself and ‘FUDGE IT!’🧡

Please sponsor me if you can to keep raising vital funds for the invaluable St John’s Hospice.💚

Thank you❤️

St John’s Hospice has been part of the local community for 40 years and provides vital service to patients and families all over our community. Our aim is to ensure that on the journey towards the end of life, we provide the right care, in the right place, at the right time.

Our care will always be free to those who need it, but it isn’t cost free. It costs £602 per hour to run the hospice and all our services with only around a quarter of this amount provided by local NHS funding. The remaining three quarters must be raised through events, community donations, grants and legacies.
