The Rucksack Project Barnsley has been running for 10 years, providing a winter handout of food, clothing, sleeping bags and more to those who have found themselves homeless or are at real risk of becoming homeless.

This year we're asking if you could spare £2... not more than that, just £2.

I’m a big believer in if people come together and do a little bit each, together we can do amazing things - we can move mountains. This project has been testament to that year after year. We do of course have some incredible and overwhelming single acts of generosity, but it’s that total sum of lots of people doing a little which propels the project to amazing results.

We will be putting every penny donated to good use, purchasing larger sized rucksacks, cold weather sleeping bags, hand warmers and other key items.

The remaining funds will go to support local homeless charity the BCDP towards their running costs.

The BCDP are a fantastic group of volunteers that go our every single night of the year, no matter the weather, to support those who are most in need across Barnsley.

I know that it’s a tough Christmas this year, with household bills putting the squeeze on many of us, but if you are able to spare just £2 it would do such a lot of good for those that have little to nothing.

Please note that whilst The Rucksack Project Barnsley is a voluntary group, the BCDP is a registered UK charity no. 1099602. Funds from this campaign will go from Just Giving to the BCDP, with The Rucksack Project Barnsley then making use of a part of these funds to purchase the aforementioned key items.
