Ruin my run!

Coventry Half Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
This year, I’m running the Coventry Half Marathon to support Coventry and Warwickshire Mind, a charity that does incredible work providing mental health support across the region. But let’s be honest—just running 13.1 miles isn’t quite painful enough. So, I’m giving you the chance to ruin my run for a great cause!
For every £5 donated, I’ll carry an extra 1lb of weight on race day. I have a nice comfy weighted vest that goes up to 20kg, but if the generosity (or sadism) of my supporters demands it, I’ll strap on extra weight plates.
The more you give, the heavier I suffer - up to a point - they told me off for carrying too much weight last year, so if we go over the 40kg limit, I'll do some maths and go a few extra miles instead for you - you can't say fairer than that.
But here’s the real reason I’m doing this - mental health challenges can be an invisible weight that people carry every day. Coventry and Warwickshire Mind provides vital services to help people manage that burden, offering everything from crisis support to therapy and community outreach. Their work changes lives, and I want to do my part to help them keep making a difference.
So, if you’d like to see me stagger through Coventry under an absurd amount of weight while raising funds for a brilliant cause, chip in what you can. Every pound (both in weight and donation) makes a difference!
