Daisy's even bigger bike ride

Calum Lynch is raising money for Just4Children

Daisy's even bigger bike ride · 21 June 2025

Just4Children need your help to raise funds for Daisy to receive physiotherapy and mobility equipment to help her get out and about and enjoy the outdoors.

Story

*ROLL UP ROLL UP*. See a fat old man suffer. Because this bike ride isn’t tough enough we’ve now shortened the timing. We’ll be setting off much earlier from Edinburgh so that we arrive in St Andrews well before 7pm. We’re doing the whole 160(ish) miles within 24 hours. Insanity. Pay money and see my grumpy arse hitting this challenge and supporting a wonderful cause. *DONATE BELOW**

There's a serious reason behind this, and many of you will have heard it before. Back during COVID, a group of us rode across the country and up the coast to raise funds for a friend's daughter, Daisy. To be more accurate, we aimed to raise funds for equipment and support for Daisy and her family to enhance her mobility. The story of a young girl with Cerebral Palsy resonated deeply with friends and colleagues , inspiring so many of you generous people to contribute.

Now, as Daisy grows up, the funds we raised last time have been put to great use. Tricycles, physiotherapy sessions, and mobility equipment have helped Daisy keep pace with her twin sister, Poppy. However, as we all know, as kids grow, so do the expenses. It's time to rally together once more and raise additional funds for this wonderful cause: "Getting Out and About with Daisy".

On June 21st, I will be back on my bike for "Daisy's even bigger bike ride".

Day 1 - Ride to the Sun! https://www.ridetothesun.co.uk/

Saturday closest to the longest day of the year - I will join fellow riders in an overnight journey from Carlisle to Edinburgh. This challenging 100-mile ride includes tackling the Devil's Beeftub in the dark while fending off pesky Scottish midges! Our goal is to be on Crammond Beach around 4am for a well-deserved bacon butty / beer as we greet the sunrise.

Day 2 - As lesser mortals go to bed in seething pain... back on our bikes again as we cross over the Forth Road Bridge and push our tired legs towards St Andrews. Depending on conditions at that point, this could mean another 75 miles filled with hills ahead! It may seem daunting—too far or even a bit crazy—but every mile ridden brings us closer to supporting Daisy's journey.

So what are you waiting for? Click that button and donate! Together we can make a difference once again.
