Story
This Ramadan, Councillor Ruman Muhith of Ipswich, is fundraising for the people of Sudan, a nation facing one of the worst humanitarian crisis in the world today.
After nearly three years of devastating conflict, millions of families in Sudan have lost their homes, livelihoods, and access to basic necessities. Hunger is widespread, children are malnourished, and entire communities are struggling to survive. Many families are surviving on just one small meal a day, while displacement and violence continue to tear lives apart.
For over 40 years, Islamic Relief has been on the ground in Sudan delivering life-saving aid, and today their teams continue to stand beside those affected by war and famine. Despite enormous challenges, Islamic Relief has already reached more than 1.2 million people with vital support, including food, clean water, medical care, shelter and cash assistance.
Islamic Relief is
- Providing emergency food to over 1.1 million people
- Delivering clean water to tens of thousands
- Supporting hospitals and health centres
- Distributing hygiene and dignity kits
- Assisting displaced families with shelter and cash
But millions more still urgently need help.
£30 = Emergency food for a vulnerable family
£50 = Clean water for displaced households
£100 = Essential hygiene and dignity kits
£250 = Life-saving food packs for multiple families
Every contribution, no matter the size, helps Islamic Relief reach families who have lost everything.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity.”
