Scottish Huntington's Association supports families impacted by Huntington’s disease (HD). 800 people in Scotland have HD with a further 3200 at risk of developing it in the future. HD impacts the ability to walk, talk and swallow, can cause mental illness and affects mood, memory and mobility.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We are raising money for Huntington’s Disease because it’s a condition that is very close to our hearts and to our work.

We work at Rumbling Bridge Nursing Home, which is home to one of the only specialist units dedicated to caring for people living with Huntington’s Disease. Every day, we support residents and families who are affected by this complex and life-limiting condition, and we see first-hand the strength, resilience, and dignity of those living with it.

Huntington’s Disease doesn’t just affect one person — it impacts entire families. The need for specialist care, support, research, and understanding is huge, and organisations like the Scottish Huntington’s Association play a vital role in providing that help.

By taking on this 20km walk, we want to give something back. Every donation will help support specialist services, raise awareness, and contribute to ongoing research — helping to improve the lives of those living with Huntington’s Disease now and in the future.

The Walking Team is: Aloka, Kosh, Amie, Krzysztofa , Lorraine and Stacey. All who work at Rumbling Bridge Nursing Home
