Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses – who we continually support and develop – provide life-changing care for families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease.

Story

One in three people will develop dementia in their lifetime. More than half of UK adults know someone who has been diagnosed with this devastating condition. Currently, around 850,000 people in the UK live with dementia, and this number is expected to rise to 1.6 million by 2040.

Dementia is becoming alarmingly common, and it's truly scary. Although there is no cure yet, there are incredible researchers and healthcare professionals working tirelessly to find one.

Having witnessed the effects of dementia firsthand, I know how heartbreaking it is to see someone who was once so independent become reliant on the support of loved ones and healthcare professionals. This should not be the norm.

That’s why I’ve decided to take on this challenge. If I can contribute to finding a cure in any way, then it's a challenge worth taking. Together, we can make a difference. Please support me in this effort to help find a cure for dementia.
