I’m Jon a British Hen Welfare Trust volunteer and hen parent to a thriving flock of ex-commercial laying hens all as a result of the wonderful work of BHWT.

For over 20 years BHWT have helped ensure >1,000,000 hens have reached free ranging retirement with families across the UK.

This year I will take to the streets of Berlin to run a marathon on the 27th September 2026. All in aid of raising money and awareness for this charity, one so close to my heart.

Running to help raise money and awareness of this amazing charity and the work they do to ensure ex-commercial laying hens reach the wonderful retirement they deserve and avoid slaughter.

This will be my 3rd marathon for BHWT and one I aim to race faster than I’ve ever raced before 😳. Each donation no matter how much, will help a hen go from a commercial system, where after 18 months they face slaughter, to gardens across the UK to enjoy life as the pets they deserve to be 👍
