Hello, it’s Hannah, Amelie’s mum. Thank you so much for visiting this page.

If you already know me, I’m sure you know about Amelie’s story. My family and I keep her memory alive in everything we do. She will always be a daughter, granddaughter, great-granddaughter and cousin, and now, finally, a big sister to her little brother, Leo.

Amelie was born in August 2020 and sadly sustained a brain injury during her birth. She lived for two days, which were filled with so much love, cuddles and precious moments with her family. Myself and my husband, Joel, then had to make the unimaginably painful decision to withdraw her care and let her pass away peacefully in our arms.

The pain of losing Amelie will never, ever leave us. But we continue to try to turn some of that pain into something positive and useful, by helping other families who are facing the unimaginable loss of their babies.

This year, Amelie’s auntie Rosie, uncles James and Rich, and I are all running the Manchester Half Marathon in October in her memory. And, because apparently one challenge wasn’t enough, crazy Auntie Rosie is running the London Marathon next year too!

The Teddy Rose Foundation has supported us through some of the darkest moments of our lives. They helped us make precious memories with our little girl during her short but beautiful life, and continue to provide invaluable support to families experiencing the loss of a baby.
