Great North Run 2024 · 8 September 2024 ·

The Matt Hampson Foundation inspires and supports young people seriously injured through sport. Through expert physiotherapy, specialist personal training, support, mentoring and advice, the Foundation helps people with life-changing injuries to get busy living again.

Story

I'm taking part in the Great North Run pushing old friend Drew Graham in his wheelchair as part of a team. Drew and I go way back to our university running days, but in 2014, a tragic accident left him with a broken neck.

Despite this life-altering event, Drew's resilience and positive outlook have been truly inspiring. He went on to set up Gym Possible, a specialist disability gym which enables people to train in a purpose build environment.

Last year, thanks to your incredible support, we raised close to £15,000 and this money went towards setting up a brand new hub in Gateshead expanding Gym Possible to two locations.

This year, we’re aiming even higher! Our goal is to complete the Great North Run in under 90 minutes while pushing Drew, and we need your help to make it happen.

Every donation makes a significant impact, helping to empower individuals through adaptive fitness and support.!
