Story
On 8 March, I’ll be running the Cambridge Half Marathon. This run isn’t really about the distance or the medal. It’s about something far more personal and close to our hearts.
In July last year, our world changed forever. Fran and I had to make the most heartbreaking decision to have a TFMR (Termination for Medical Reasons) and say goodbye to our little man, Jack, at 17 weeks. It’s a loss that stays with us every day and has shaped our lives in ways we never could have imagined.
During that incredibly difficult time, Petals was there for us. The specialist counselling and support they provide to parents experiencing baby loss during pregnancy or shortly after birth is truly incredible. When everything feels overwhelming and isolating, having someone who genuinely understands your grief can make such a difference.
I’m running to raise money for the amazing Petals charity, so they can continue to support other families facing the unimaginable, just as they supported us. No one should have to walk this path alone, and Petals helps make sure they don’t have to.
I know I’ve run half marathons before, but this one is different. This time, I’m running for our little man. We remember him, we honour him, and we carry him with us always. 💙
If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, or share our story, we’d be incredibly grateful.
