Imogen’s story
This year, I am running the Brighton Half Marathon to raise funds for The Martlets Hospice, a cause that is incredibly close to my heart. I am running to give something back to a place that made an extraordinary difference to Pete during his final days.
When Pete was diagnosed with a terminal illness, he and his family were understandably overwhelmed and devastated. The Martlets stepped in and provided compassionate, expert care during his end-of-life journey, making sure he was as comfortable as possible and that his family (my boyfriend Harry, Bronwyn, and Esther) were supported at every step. From the moment the team arrived, they became an integral part of the family’s experience—offering medical care, emotional support, and practical help during such a challenging time.
Seeing the impact The Martlets had on us all made me realise just how important hospices are.
By running this half marathon, I want to help make sure that more families can experience the same level of care and support. Every donation will help The Martlets continue their vital work, ensuring that those in need can receive the care they deserve, just like Pete did.
If you are able to donate, every penny will make a difference and will be so appreciated. Thank you for your support in helping me run for a cause that truly matters.
I hope I’m doing you proud Pete, we all miss you more than words could ever explain🤍👼
Lilly’s story
The martlets have helped my family in so many ways, I have lost many loved ones who spent the last few months of their lives living in the hospice, the care they give is like no other!
My grandad who is currently suffering with MND has the martlets team come out to his home to sit and give him company so my nan gets time to herself🤍
My Nan and grandad who I sadly lost were also supported by the martlets until the very end! The staff are an amazing support when you need them most!
The martlets also help my wonderful step mums parents and was a big support to everyone around. When they was living in the hospice it was always very welcoming.
My bestfriend lost her dad early this year and the martlets was a big part of his journey and helped her wonderful family all the way to the very end! I couldn’t thank them enough for all they have done for all our loved ones!
I’m running this in loving memory of Nanny Jackie, Grandad ray, Di, Robin and Pete🤍👼🏼🤍👼🏼🤍👼🏼
I hope we do you proud 🙏🏼
