Story

We're running the Rob Burrows Leeds Half Marathon on 11 May to raise money for the MND Association.

Our friend Paul was diagnosed with Motor Neurone disease last May, just after his 50th birthday. We hoped he'd be able to cheer us across the finish line but devastatingly, he passed away in February, just 9 months after his diagnosis.

Paul leaves behind our lovely friend Ang and their two young boys. During his illness, they were supported by the charity and the donation will help people affected by MND and further research as at present, there is no cure.

We lived in the shadows of Headingley stadium in our last year of university so it will be particularly poignant and a real trip down memory lane to finish the half marathon there. Back then, the only running we did was to get to the bar at the Sky Rack for happy hour! We're busy training and although the race will be tough, a couple of hours of sore feet and blisters is nothing compared to the pain that his family will feel in the future without him. Thanks in advance for your donations in Paul's memory, we really appreciate it.
