Why am I doing this again!!!!!!!!!

Not only am I running the Manchester Half Marathon on Sunday 12th October 2025 but I have signed up to run the Manchester Marathon (Again) on Sunday 19th April 2026.

Why am I doing this to myself again you ask? for my son Wilson. Wilson was born prematurely and as a result was diagnosed with quadriplegic cerebral palsy meaning he is unable to sit, stand or walk unaided.

However due to previous fund raising efforts, we managed to get this incredible boy to Alder Hey Children's Hospital for SDR surgery which at the time was not available on the NHS but what an amazing difference this has made to his quality of life. Is that the end? absolutely not!!!!!

Wilson now needs specialist equipment and daily physiotherapy as a minimum to ensure he can reach his full potential and just be a normal little boy.

As a family, we all continue to fundraise for not only Wilson, but to raise awareness for cerebral palsy. We are working with Just4Children where all monies raised will go to them to not only ensure that the money is protected, but to make sure Wilson has access to much needed equipment, therapy and anything that will assist Wilson into becoming an independent young man.
