At Young Lives vs Cancer, we help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. We’ll face it all together – but we can’t do it without you. Visit www.younglivesvscancer.org.uk

Story

In April 2025 we will be running the TCS London Marathon to raise funds for Young Lives vs Cancer.

Last year Teds friends (and Mr Compton) all took part in the Dorney lake Half Marathon to raise money in support of him, which was incredibly successful. If being convinced to run a half marathon last year wasn’t enough, Mr Compton is now stepping this up to a full marathon OUT OF CHOICE. Ted, who was too unwell to take part last year, is now going straight to the full marathon while still undergoing treatment right through to August 2025.

We are raising vital funds for Young Lives vs Cancer, a charity that has been a lifeline to Ted and his family since his leukaemia diagnosis in May 2023. Throughout this tough journey the help and care of Young Lives vs Cancer has made a real difference, providing both practical and emotional support, and the charity provided a home away from home for Ted and his mum when they had to stay near the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. By sponsoring Ted and Mr. Compton, you’ll help ensure other families facing cancer receive this invaluable support. We are grateful for any donations you are able to make to help us reach our target, thank you!
