Story
When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support from you, we can rebuild even more lives.
4th August 2024… I sat with my gran for a good few hours into the evening talking about her house, Telling her about these beautiful Venison Kebabs from Aldi Gluten Free… She was so excited and wanted some at 9pm I drove to Aldi bought some and she said thank you love I’ll have them tomorrow they looks delicious!!
5th August 7am, Gran put her bins outs.. As a Typical Gran decided to pull up some weeds at the gate… Gran didn’t make it back in her house, This was the moment Gran suffered a stroke.. She managed to call for help and help came, Neighbours gathered, Emergency Services arrived, This day everything changed.
I couldn’t believe it the day before I was with her. The next day it all changed… I couldn’t stop thinking about the Venison Kebabs.
Gran had 3 months of being bed bound, Trying to learn to walk again, Luckily her speech came back and she was all with it… We knew it would be difficult but we honestly thought the rough was over…
November came she made it home, Care assistants arriving, I made a visit and said you know what gran you loved your garden and I’m going to clean it up next Sunday for you.. Ready for when your better…
Sunday never came, The week was tragic and long and my beloved Gran disappeared with the Angels..
It doesn’t matter how healthy you are, You could suffer a stroke at any moment, You can be young or older… Cherish what you have, Hold your loved ones close and always have a camera on hand and capture the Arguments, The laughter, The jokes…
I’m raising money to raise awareness for others that have suffered a stroke or need ongoing support..
The smallest donation will count, You can share this to others if you can’t Donate, I appreciate you learning about my story and why I will be completing a 10 K marathon in Manchester due to the recent activity being cancelled
Thank you
