Story
Earlier this year, we lost our mum in a tragic house fire. Nothing prepares you for that kind of loss, and navigating life afterwards is something we’re still learning to do.
Through this journey, we discovered HOPE, a small charity supporting families bereaved by fire, road traffic collisions, and drowning. We hadn’t heard of them before — most people haven’t — but knowing they exist brings comfort. Their work is unique, specialised, and deeply needed, and while we haven’t used their services ourselves, it means a lot to know they’re there for families like ours.
To honour our mum and to help HOPE continue supporting others through unimaginable circumstances, we’re taking on a 6‑hour running challenge around Doncaster Lakeside. We’ll be running continuous laps for the full six hours — physically tough, mentally tougher — but nothing compared to the strength required to face sudden loss.
We’re inviting anyone to join us:
Run one lap, two laps, ten laps… or walk a lap with us while we refuel. Every step helps raise awareness and shows families going through trauma that they’re not alone.
We’re proud to be the first to fundraise for HOPE in this way, and we hope our effort helps this small charity continue the incredible work they do.
Thank you for donating, sharing, or joining us. Your support truly means the world.
