Matt Bessent is raising money for Rosemere Cancer Foundation

London Marathon 2026 · 26 April 2026 ·

Rosemere Cancer Foundation supports world-class care for the 70,000 people in Lancashire and South Cumbria currently living with cancer, by funding cutting-edge equipment, research, training, and patient welfare projects to make their cancer journey more effective, comfortable and stress-free.

Story

I’m raising funds for Rosemere Cancer Foundation, our regional cancer charity supporting people across Lancashire and South Cumbria. Around 70,000 people here are living with cancer, and 1 in 2 of us will be affected in our lifetime. Rosemere steps in to fund what really moves the needle: cutting-edge equipment, pioneering local research, specialist training, and life-changing patient welfare projects—wherever patients are cared for across the region.

This cause means a lot to me. Rosemere looked after my mum, and I’ve seen the difference they make for friends and families in our community. Last year I joined a brilliant team to complete the National Three Peaks in under 24 hours, raising £17,000+ for Rosemere.

This year and next, I’m taking on two big goals:

• Great North Run – 7 September 2025

• London Marathon – 2026 (my first marathon!)

I'm looking to raise a minimum of £2,500 for these events.

I’m training hard and paying my own event costs—so every donation goes to Rosemere’s work. If you can, please support the page today. Even a small donation helps, and adding Gift Aid increases your gift by 25% at no extra cost if you’re eligible.

If donating isn’t possible right now, a share or a message of support would mean the world. Thank you for backing Rosemere and helping more families get the best possible care, close to home.
