Tom Williams's dream was to transform the 12th century Chesil Theatre into a state-of-the-art, 21st-century community performance centre. Over the last 25 years he has worked towards buying the land adjacent to the theatre and create an extension which would include a modern foyer and bar and an adaptable studio/community space accessible to all, allowing the local community to benefit from this amazing performing arts space.

In 2024 planning consent was granted for the neighbouring land which was bought in 2022. Sadly Tom died before he could see his dream become a reality but we, his family and friends, are determined that it will happen and as part of the fundraising effort we're running the Winchester half marathon on 21st September.
