Story
This October im raising money once again, but this year to support cancer patients across Telford and Wrekin in partnership with Lingen Davies Cancer Support (sunflower appeal) to promote awareness for all types of cancer and to help our local area receive the resources needed to help those locally as soon as possible with the cancer facilities which are vitally needed in the area to ensure patients are not having to travel to other areas of shropshire to get the treatment they need.
Last year i did a swim the equivalent length of the english channel raising nearly £3000 for cancer research uk supporting people across the uk and now i want to give back to my local area supporting this amazing charity and its aims of building a cancer centre here in Telford by 2029.
So this year i am challenging myself to run 220km across October which us the equivalent of just over 7km/4.35miles a day which represents the just over 700 people diagnosed across the uk with cancer every day
This year though is a bit different, recently i found out that a former teacher of mine is currently battling cancer and i thought the best way that i could give my support was by doing this challenge so i hope by doing this i can do that for them as theyve supported me through so much so i only feel that it is right to support them through this time too. Also this has affected both my family and friends with people around me still battling cancer as i run so please if you can donate that would be very much appreciated.
Thank you for the support
Joe :)
