Story
On the day of the London Marathon 2025, I lost one of my very favourite people, Alan, to pancreatic cancer. It was a cruel twist of fate—while thousands were running through the streets of London, Alan’s incredible life came to an end.
Alan was more than a friend. He was family, he had incredible knowledge of all things dog, horse, bird and countryside and had superhuman strength. Losing him has lit a fire in me to do something meaningful in his memory.
Everyone who knows me knows how much I love to run. I’ve done loads of half marathons all over the place but only one marathon and I swore blind I’d never ever do another… but when I was offered a place to run London 2026 for Pancreatic Cancer Action, it felt like serendipity. I didn’t hesitate.
Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest cancers, often diagnosed too late. Pancreatic Cancer Action is working to change that—through early diagnosis, awareness, and support for those affected. I want to help them stop this disease from taking more people like Al.
So I’m lacing up my shoes, training hard, and running 26.2 miles in his name. I’d be so grateful for your support—whether it’s a donation, a share, or a cheer from the sidelines.
Please let’s do this for Alan. Let’s do this for everyone still fighting. Let’s make a difference.
Thank you 💜
