Running for Mavisš¤
We lost our six year old dog to cancer on November 19th after a short three week battle. Three weeks after her sixth birthday.
We made her a bucket list and managed to complete a lot of things on there but we ran out of time. Everything progressed so fast we no longer had as long as we thought we had with her.
Itās safe to say our world was ripped apart the day we had to say goodbye.
To lose her so young and in such a cruel way made it such a hard pill to swallow.
Both ourselves and our other dog have been struggling a lot since, life isnāt the same without her.
We have both signed up to run the Manchester Half Marathon in October 2025 in memory of Mavis and to raise money for the Blue Cross. They have an amazing support system for people who are going through pet bereavement and theyāve helped over 20,000 people through this including ourselves.
Neither of us do a lot of exercise so this is absolutely huge for us.
Some of our amazing best friends have signed up too to run alongside us in memory of our baby girl.
We wanted to do something to help turn our pain and grieving into something positive and to help spread the word about cancer in pets.
Our two dogs Mavis and Margot really are the centre of our world so when we lost Mavis, everything seemed to stand still for a very long time.
We need to raise £300 each (£600 in total) to be able to run the half marathon.
Any donation no matter how small is very much appreciated by all of us.
Lots of love Bethany, Emma and Margot.
(Mavisā mummies and little sister)
