We have been putting on live theatre since 1901. Our members can use existing skills, interests and talents and develop new ones. We have socials, play readings and theatre trips. We have a fantastic, enthusiastic Youth Group trained by a professional tutor. Recently we transformed a dilapidated basement into a performance area for Members, Youth and local community. Funds are needed to furnish, install stage lighting and sound. This area will bring benefit to Stockport residents both as audience and as members by providing a centre for performance of arts and cultural activities. A safe place for children to develop a love of theatre and arts, attending classes, rehearsing and performing plays each year. We believe this whole project will greatly benefit the community. Whatever the age it is a place to feel welcomed, safe and valued.

Story

I am raising money for the Stockport Garrick Theatre and I'm not making it easy on myself!

After recovering from a few minor operations in 2023, I'm going to be participating in 3 events across 2024:

April 2024 - The Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge. This is a 25-mile round trip route and includes 1,585m of ascent, climbing the peaks of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. Usually, people try to complete this is 12 hours. I'm going to aim for 7 hours, but, of course, this is all just training for...

11th-12th May 2024 - The LAP Windermere. The clue's in the name - a 47 mile race around Lake Windermere with 2,500m of ascent. This will be my first trail Ultramarathon. I have 24 hours to complete this, but I'm going to be stupid and set a time of 13 hours.
