Story
In 2014, I had the privilege of co-founding the charity Yada. I was part of a team of three women who shared a desire to support women at risk of sexual exploitation — and, above all, to see women for who they are beyond the stigma, assumptions and labels that may have been placed upon them.
Several years on, Yada continues to support women impacted by sexual exploitation across West Sussex. They run an outreach service for women who are selling or exchanging sex, as well as women who have experienced sexual exploitation.
Yada meets women where they are, offering a listening ear without judgement alongside practical and emotional support. The heart of the work remains the same: helping women to feel safe, supported, valued and known.
Through consistent, trauma-informed support and simply walking alongside women, Yada sees time and time again how women can begin to rediscover their sense of self-worth and value, and make positive, lasting changes in their lives.
Yada is a small (but mighty!) charity, and your support really does make a difference. Every donation goes directly towards supporting the outreach team to reach more women and provide invaluable support — whether that’s sitting down over a cup of coffee, accompanying women to appointments, or fiercely advocating for them when engaging with professionals and local services.
I’m incredibly proud of the work Yada continues to do, and so grateful to everyone who supports it.
