I’m not a big fan of the sob story, but if it makes you put your hand in your pocket then here it is….

1st January 2026 life was great, I was raring to go and have the best year ever.

2nd of January I got a call to take my sister to hospital with a suspected stroke, she was very different not the same sister I’d argued with a few weeks earlier. Slower, calmer and distant.

5 hours later we were told it wasn’t a stroke. Relief, crushed seconds later when we were told it was a golf ball sized brain tumour. It was like something out of a film, this shit doesn’t happen in real life! Yet here we were. After a week of Scans and tests it was confirmed as stage 4 glioblastoma, basically she’s fucked. It’s a matter of when not if she’s gonna die. She is the rock of the family, the one who gave everything to everyone else and now she’s only got months to live.

I cannot explain the devastation, but unfortunately so many of you will probably already know it because this sob story is so common.

I can’t do anything to change the outcome but I can do stupid challenges and push myself through difficult tests of endurance to raise money for the people who are supporting her and so many others. because anything I do is easier than what she is going through. Brain surgery, Chemo, Radiotherapy, steroids, fatigue, heart ache. All I have to do is run a bit.
